What's the story

Kevin Spacey cannot stop having run-ins with the law, apparently. The American Beauty actor was on his way back home from the airport after his sexual assault hearing in Massachusetts, when he was pulled over by the police for going above the speed limit. Spacey was behind the wheel when he was apprehended by the lawmen. Here's what went down.

Spacey's case

After stopping Spacey, cops asked for his license, registration papers

Spacey was leaving the Reagan National Airport in Washington DC when he was stopped for speeding by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police. The officers asked for his driving license and registration papers. Spacey was driving the car with his lawyer seated next to him and was on his way back from the sexual assault trial against him that is currently underway in Massachusetts.

Action

Spacey let off with verbal warning, not even issued ticket

Despite getting caught by the police officers, Spacey seems to have gotten off easy. E! reports a Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Spokesperson said that though Spacey had been pulled over earlier in the day for going above the speed limit, he was let off with only a verbal warning. The officers involved in the case didn't even issue a ticket against the disgraced actor.

Case

No quick resolution for Spacey in the sexual allegation case

While this case might have been wrapped up quickly, Spacey cannot possibly hope for a quick resolution to the more serious charges he is facing in the trial. Spacey has been accused of sexually assaulting an underage boy after plying him with drinks. According to the charges, he had groped the boy, who lied about not being underage, against his consent.

Personal

Spacey should avoid breaking the law for now

Spacey's next hearing is on March 4, where the actor does not need to be physically present but must be available on phone. Hopefully, for now, Spacey will try to minimize his encounters with law-enforcement and live within the boundaries of the law.
