Here's the schedule for the four-day event
The 2024 DNC will take place at the United Center in Chicago, with other facilities such as the McCormick Place Convention Center hosting event spaces. Per reports, the schedule for the hosts is as follows: Goldwyn will host on Monday, followed by Navarro on Tuesday, Kaling on Wednesday, and Washington on Thursday. The convention will be livestreamed across multiple platforms including YouTube and TikTok.
'Can't tell you how much it means to me...'
Navarro, who previously voted Republican but shifted her support to the Democratic party after Donald Trump's political entry, shared her excitement about hosting the DNC on Instagram. "I can't tell you how much it means to me," she said in a video. "For me to have the chance to stand on that stage and help my girl Kamala make history and become the Democratic nominee, it's just such a mind-blowing moment."
Washington, Goldwyn are longtime political activists
Washington—a veteran of the DNC—first joined the convention in 2012 when she spoke in support of former President Barack Obama's re-election. She also opened the third night of the DNC in 2020 when President Joe Biden ran against then-sitting President Trump. Goldwyn—who previously played a president on Scandal—is also a political activist. In 2016, he supported the Hillary Clinton campaign and appeared at a reproductive rights event and reelection rally for President Biden before he dropped out of the race.
Former presidents and other notable figures to speak at DNC
The 2024 DNC will also feature speeches from Obama and Michelle Obama, along with former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will take the stage on Monday. Other notable figures set to speak at the convention include Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, and former President Carter's grandson Jason Carter.
