In new music video, Katy Perry reveals she is pregnant
Katy Perry's fans had a fantastic Wednesday night as their favorite pop star dropped the much-awaited video of her latest song Never Worn White. But that wasn't the only surprise in store for the KatyCat community (that's what her loyal fans are called), as 35-year-old singer-songwriter also used the new music video as an opportunity to announce that she is having her first baby!
In the video, Perry exposes her baby bump
While the video itself is beautiful and Perry looks spectacular, dressed in an angel-esque white gown and a full-blown dress made just out of flowers, there is one moment in the clip that is bound to make every single viewer pause and admire for a good while. That happens when towards the end of video, the Roar singer is seen cradling her baby bump.
Perry confirmed the news on her social media accounts
Soon after releasing the music video, Perry confirmed the news of her pregnancy via Twitter, writing, "omg so glad I don't have to suck it in anymore (sic)" and "or carry around a big purse lol (sic)". The pop star also discussed her impending pregnancy with her fans on Instagram Live. "There's a lot that will be happening this summer," Perry shared.
Let's call it a double whammy, Perry said on Instagram
Stating that she is "excited and happy", Perry added, "Not only will I be giving birth, literally, but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for. So let's just call it a double whammy. It's a two-for."
Perry said music was the 'best way' to announce pregnancy
Explaining her decision to reveal her pregnancy through a music video, Perry said, "I like to tell you guys everything but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that's...I guess that's how I speak to you." "That's how we speak together to each other," the singer told her fans.
Perry started dating fiance Orlando Bloom in 2016
Now that it is clear that Perry is having her first child with fiance and British actor Orlando Bloom, let us tell you that the two first started dating in early 2016. Even though the couple separated 10 months after that, they reunited in 2018 and announced their engagement in February last year. Perry was earlier married to English comedian Russell Brand.
