Salman finds his heroine: Katrina replaces Priyanka in 'Bharat'
A day after Priyanka Chopra quit 'Bharat' for special reasons (read reported engagement with Nick Jonas), sources in the know have confirmed that Katrina Kaif has been signed for the movie. Kaif and Salman Khan will be playing each other's love interests in the movie, which is a remake of Korean drama 'Ode to my Father'. The movie is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Earlier, 'Bharat' producer called Chopra 'unprofessional' for ditching movie
Priyanka Chopra's engagement to Nick Jonas made big news yesterday, but her personal happiness spelled trouble for her professional commitments. PeeCee had to leave 'Bharat', and while she has director Ali Zafar's blessing, not everyone in the team is happy about her sudden departure. One of the producers has even labeled her unprofessional for leaving on such a short notice.
Kaif will begin filming in September
Earlier today, Zafar took to Twitter to announce that the name of the lead actress would be revealed soon. It is reported that Kaif will begin shooting for this movie in September. In fact, Kaif's name had popped up when Chopra walked out of the project but it was speculated her dates might pose a problem. Not anymore, it seems!
Notably, Kaif and Zafar are close friends
Katrina Kaif worked with Ali Abbas Zafar for the first time in 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' which released in 2011. They teamed up again for 2017's blockbuster 'Tiger Zinda Hai', which also marked Kaif's reunion with Salman after five years. Kaif and Zafar share a close bond and one can only expect the duo to weave magic again.
