Box office: Shreyas Talpade-Vijay Raaz's 'Kartam Bhugtam' experiences slow start
Shreyas Talpade's recent film, Kartam Bhugtam, directed by Soham P Shah, experienced a lackluster start at the box office, earning a mere ₹16 lakh on its opening day. The film also features Vijay Raaz and Madhoo. The success of the movie will be determined in the days to come. The makers indulged in negligible promotions, which directly impacted the film's earnings.
This is what happens in the movie
Kartam Bhugtam revolves around Dev Joshi (Talpade), who comes to India from Auckland to take care of his ancestral properties and finances after his father's sudden death. However, in India, a slew of tragedies await him, and he soon finds himself stuck in a rut, with none of his tasks reaching the finish line. At last, he seeks the advice of Anna (Raaz), a noted astrologer. Read our review of the film here.
Talpade on why he accepted the film
Speaking to Telegraph, Talpade recently revealed, "I heard the entire story and loved it. This is an absolutely original story. It is inspired by Soham's close cousin who went through something like what happens in the film." "The second-most important reason was Soham himself. I have been wanting to work with him for quite some time now. We were about to work in Luck (2009) but it didn't happen."
Talpade's upcoming projects; Raaz's next film
Talpade has numerous upcoming projects lined up. He is scheduled to voice Allu Arjun's character (in Hindi) in Pushpa 2- The Rule, which is set to release on August 15. Additionally, he will be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. In addition to that, he has a pivotal part in Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency. Raaz, meanwhile, will be seen in Chandu Champion on June 14.
