Producer Karim Morani tests coronavirus positive for the second time
Bollywood producer Karim Morani has tested positive for the novel coronavirus for the second time, reports said on Tuesday. He was diagnosed with the disease on April 8. However, the producer had no symptoms of the deadly virus. He is currently admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. His daughters, Shaza and Zoa, who had also tested positive for the virus, have now recovered.
Karim has a history of health complications: Report
According to a report in India Today, Karim is 60 years old and has a history of health complications. The producer has survived two heart attacks and also had a bypass surgery in the past. Karim, a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan, has produced movies like Chennai Express, Ra.One, Dilwale, and Happy New Year. However, he's been away from showbiz for some time.
Meanwhile, Shaza and Zoa have been discharged from hospital
While further updates on Karim's health are awaited, Shaza and Zoa have returned home after testing negative for COVID-19. They were diagnosed with the virus a week ago. While Shaza had traveled internationally in early March, elder sister and actor Zoa had returned from Rajasthan around mid-March. After being discharged from the hospital, Zoa expressed gratitude to the doctors and the media.
Grateful to doctors and hospital staff, Zoa said
"I am extremely grateful to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who took care of my health and my spirits everyday. You will be in my prayers forever. No words can describe how does it feel to be home. I'm so grateful," Zoa told PTI. The actor has featured in movies like Always Kabhi Kabhi, Bhaag Johnny, and a couple of web-series.
COVID-19 killed 350 and infected 10,000 in India
Before the Moranis, singer Kanika Kapoor was also diagnosed with COVID-19 after she returned from the UK. She has now fully recovered. Across India, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 358 persons and infected more than 10,000. Keeping in view the ongoing situation, the government has extended the nationwide lockdown until May 3. It was supposed to end today.
