Kareena becomes highest-paid female Indian TV-star, says she deserves it
Bollywood bigwig Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to become the highest-paid female Indian TV star, according to reports. This comes after the actress was made one of the judges of the popular reality TV show, Dance India Dance's latest installment. Interestingly, the 38-year-old will be making her small-screen debut with the new show. Here's more on this.
The actress says she deserves the fat paycheck
According to Kareena, "The pay package has to be a good amount because you put in a lot of hardwork on TV." "It is the first time ever that any mainstream actress has forayed into TV at this point in her career. I've got what I completely deserve and for the hours that I will put in," said the actress in an interview earlier.
Kareena has turned down many TV-show offers after Taimur's birth
Interestingly, Kareena has rejected many TV show offers after Taimur's birth, due to long working hours. "TV has very long hours of timing, 12-14 hours and I don't work more than eight hours after Taimur's birth. I'm a working mother and I have to be home with him. I like to be at home before he eats his dinner," she explained.
About the show
Notably, Kareena will be co-judging Dance India Dance: Battle of the Champions along with choreographer Bosco Martis and rapper Raftaar. This will be the seventh edition of the show. It will premiere on Zee TV on June 22.
On the work front
Kareena has a lot on her hands right now. In addition to the said show, she has two films in her kitty already. The actress will soon be seen in Karan Johar's period drama Takht, and Irrfan Khan-starrer Angrezi Medium. She is quite excited to be working with Irrfan. "It's just a different world to work with Irrfan," she said.
