Kanye West accused of punching 'wrong twin' in assault incident
Rapper Kanye West (now known as Ye) is facing scrutiny following a recent altercation at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles. The incident occurred last week when Ye allegedly punched a man accused of assaulting his wife, Bianca Censori. However, TMZ reports suggest that West may have mistakenly hit the wrong individual—the twin brother of the alleged assaulter.
Houston twins at the center of West's assault allegations
The Houston twins—known for owning several LA bars and restaurants—involved in this controversy are Mark and Jonnie Houston. The incident reportedly began after a minor collision with Censori, which led to her accusing one of the brothers of assault. However, a spokesperson for West told TMZ, "The assailant didn't merely collide into her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses."
West's representative insisted on Censori's assault
After an alleged bump by the man who then exited to join friends outside, West reportedly punched him, possibly hitting the wrong twin. Despite law enforcement finding no evidence to substantiate claims of assault on Censori, a representative for West insists that she was indeed assaulted that night. The Los Angeles Police Department is planning to speak with West and Censori regarding the incident.
West's history of physical altercations resurfaces
This isn't the first time West has been implicated in a physical altercation. In January 2022, he punched an autograph broker who had been following him. In 2023, TMZ shared a video of West attacking a celebrity photographer. However, in both instances, no charges were filed against him. The investigation into the recent incident at Chateau Marmont continues and will be sent to the City Attorney for review to determine if any official charges will be filed.
