Actress Shobha, of 'Magalu Janaki' fame, dies in car crash
Kannada actress Shobha, who appeared on the show Magalu Janaki, died in a car crash recently along with four others. According to media reports, the incident took on Wednesday (July 17) on the outskirts of Chitradurga, Karnataka where Shobha's car rammed into a truck on National Highway 4. The report further suggested that the deceased was heading to Banashankari Temple in Cholachagudd, Badami.
Three people sustained severe injuries, being treated at government hospital
Reportedly, Shobha along with seven others were traveling in a multipurpose vehicle, when the car rammed into a speeding truck. While five people were killed in the crash, the other three, including two children, sustained severe injuries. The injured are being treated at a government hospital in Chitradurga. A report published in IBTimes further stated that the accident occurred after the car's tyre burst.
Shobha is known for her performance in 'Magalu Janaki'
For the uninitiated, Shobha, 45, is a popular Kannada actress, who is known for her performance in Magalu Janaki. The actress played the role of Mangala (Anand Belagur's mother) on the show, and earned a massive fan following due to her natural acting skills.

Magalu Janaki director TN Seetharam expressed his grief over her death, and shared a post on Facebook along with Shobha's picture. "Ever smiling and highly talented actress Shobha, who was doing the role of Mangala, is no more. I am shocked by the tragedy and expressing my condolence to her family," read the post that he had written in Kannada.
