Kangana Ranaut meets Israeli ambassador Naor Gilon
Kangana Ranaut was in the national capital on the occasion of Dussehra. During her visit, the actor paid a visit to the Embassy of Israel where she met Israel's ambassador to India, Naor Gilon. Sharing a series of pictures with Gilon on Wednesday, Ranaut spoke about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. She also wrote about her brief discussion with Gilon on her upcoming film Tejas.
Why does this story matter?
The Israel-Hamas war started after the militant group carried out an attack by barraging over 5,000 rockets on Israel on October 7. In retaliation, Israel airstriked the Gaza Strip and also cut off food, water, electricity, and fuel supply to Gaza. Ever since the war began, the world has been left divided with some supporting Israel while others voicing assistance for Palestinians.
Ranaut called Hamas 'modern-day Ravana and terrorists'
In her post on Instagram, Ranaut extended her support to Israel, hoping that it "will be victorious in this war against terrorism." She went on to write that she felt like meeting the people (at the Israeli embassy) "who are defeating modern-day Ravana and terrorists like Hamas. The way small children and women are being targeted is heart-wrenching."
