Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited film Emergency is set to release its trailer on Wednesday, August 14, as announced by the team on social media on Monday. The movie, which is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 6, delves into the controversial Emergency period in India from 1975-1977. Ranaut not only stars in the film but also serves as its director and producer, portraying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
'Emergency' trailer gets CBFC approval
The Emergency trailer, with a runtime of two minutes and 57 seconds, has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). A new poster was also released on Monday. In a strategic move to increase visibility, the trailer will be attached to the prints of Vedaa, an upcoming film featuring John Abraham and Sharvari. Both movies are backed by Zee Studios.

Emergency boasts a stellar cast. The film features Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary as Pupul Jayakar, Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw, and the late Satish Kaushik in the role of Jagjivan Ram. This film marks Ranaut's return to cinemas after Tejas, directed by Sarvesh Mewara, and co-starring Anshul Chauhan. It was released last year.
