Kangana Ranaut reunites with 'Gangster' director Anurag Basu for 'Imali'
Director Anurag Basu introduced Kangana Ranaut in Bollywood with 'Gangster', back in 2006. Post that, they collaborated on 'Life In A... Metro' (2007) and 'Kites' (2010)'. Subsequently, Kangana had a fallout with her mentor after the Hrithik Roshan starrer. But, it's been eight years now and the actor-director duo has decided to move on. They are reuniting for a romantic drama titled 'Imali'.
Kangana herself confirmed the development
"It's too early to talk about 'Imali' as we're starting the film around the end of 2018. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I'm today is because of him. Can't wait to go back to the beginning," Kangana said.
What caused a rift between Kangana and Anurag
After the release of 'Kites', reports of an alleged rift between Kangana and Anurag started to come in. It was being said that Kangana was miffed with Anurag for decreasing the length of her role in the film. Apparently, Kangana had a meaty role in 'Kites' but her scenes were chopped off at the editing table.
'Imali' will most probably be out next year
The details about Kangana and Anurag's fourth collaboration have been kept under the wraps for now. The makers are currently on a lookout for the male lead and will announce it as soon as they'll finalize someone.
Meanwhile, Kangana's next release will be 'Manikarnika'
Kangana is gearing up for the release of her much talked about 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi'. The film, which is Kangana's maiden production venture, is currently in the post-production stage. Besides, she is also working on a film titled 'Mental Hai Kya' with her 'Queen' co-star Rajkummar Rao.
