Kangana Ranaut rubbishes claim of partying with gangster Abu Salem
Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has found herself embroiled in controversy once again! The Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Sabha candidate for Himachal Pradesh's Mandi seat recently denied allegations of her association with jailed gangster Abu Salem. The claims emerged following the circulation of a controversial picture on social media, showing Ranaut with a man alleged to be Salem. In response, Ranaut clarified via Instagram Stories that the man in the picture was not Salem but a former journalist.
Ranaut identified the man in picture as Mark Manuel
Ranaut took to social media to identify the man in the viral picture as Mark Manuel—a former entertainment editor of the Times of India. She shared a screenshot of the picture where she is seen smiling alongside Manuel, dismissing claims that he was Salem. "Desperate Congress officials are spreading this picture with the caption that I am partying with Gangster Abu Salem," Ranaut stated, adding that such allegations were "utterly disrespectful" to Manuel.

Ranaut expressed gratitude for opportunity to work under PM Modi
Last Friday, Ranaut was photographed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Mandi. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work under Modi's leadership at a public meeting. "The day has arrived to work under the guidance of PM Modi," she said, praising his technical and modern developmental works as "tremendous." She further committed herself as a party worker to the developmental works for Mandi.
Actor to portray Indira Gandhi in upcoming film 'Emergency'
Meanwhile, acting-wise, in her debut solo directorial project, Ranaut will be portraying former PM Indira Gandhi in the film Emergency. The film is written by Ritesh Shah, who also penned Ranaut's previous film Dhaakad, which did not fare well at the box office. Other actors including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, late actor Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade will also feature in key roles in the film. The release date for Emergency is yet to be announced.
