Kangana Ranaut mourns her over 100-year-old grandmother; pens emotional tribute
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is grieving the death of her grandmother, Indrani Thakur, who died on Friday night. The actor took to Instagram on Saturday to post a series of photos and notes in memory of her late grandmother. In one post, she wrote in Hindi: "Last night my grandmother Indrani Thakur died. The entire family is in mourning. Please pray for her."
Ranaut hailed her grandmother as a 'remarkable woman'
In another post, Ranaut paid tribute to her grandmother's resilience and determination. She wrote, "My nani was a remarkable woman, she had 5 children. Nana ji had limited resources yet she made sure all of her children got high education in good institutions." "She insisted that even her married daughters should work and have a career of their own...all of her 5 children including women had their own careers, she was very proud of her children's careers."
'She will always be remembered': Ranaut
In another post, Ranaut revealed her grandmother was over 100 years old and stayed independent till her last days. "My nani ji was so healthy and lively that even though she was above 100 years old she did all her work by herself." However, a recent stroke left Thakur bedridden which caused her great discomfort. Despite this, Ranaut emphasized, "She lived a wonderful life and became such an inspiration for all of us."
Ranaut's professional life: 'Emergency' release date pending
Meanwhile, on the professional front, the BJP MP and actor Ranaut is scheduled to appear in the political drama Emergency, where she will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which was originally slated to release on September 6, had been postponed over certification issues from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the CBFC has now issued a censor certificate for the film. The release date will be announced soon.
