'Dhaakad' is in the same space as 'Resident Evil': Kangana
After impressing audiences with her leadership qualities in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Kangana Ranaut is all set to take over the action avatar for Dhaakad. Talking about it in a recent interview, the actress says that Dhaakad is in "the same space as Resident Evil." The reason behind this comparison is because Dhaakad will have "several chase sequences and sword fights," she notes.
"I believe one must pick new skills for every movie"
"I will use all kinds of sophisticated weapons, including some of the latest machine guns. I believe one must pick up new skills for every movie. I don't like to rush into any project as it makes me anxious," Kangana was quoted as saying.
Kangana to learn hand-to-hand combat and Krav Maga for 'Dhaakad'
Interestingly, Kangana will be undergoing six-week-long training for her action-packed role in the film. In fact, she will be learning hand-to-hand combat and Krav Maga (a combination of techniques of boxing, wrestling, judo and karate) for the movie. Director Razneesh Ghai also revealed that Kangana will learn how to use guns and will be trained by a team of stunt directors from Thailand.
'Dhaakad' action style will be different from 'Manikarnika,' says Razneesh
"Manikarnika was a period film that had Kangana training with swords. But since Dhaakad is a contemporary movie, the style of action is different. She will have to undergo a six-week program. She will dedicate a fortnight to learn how to use guns," Razneesh said.
The film is mounted on a large scale, says Kangana
Earlier, the 32-year-old actress had said that Dhaakad will be "a benchmark film for my career." "The film is mounted on a large scale, is one of a kind female-led action film, and is apt for a Diwali release," she added. Reportedly, the movie will begin rolling in early 2020, and will be shot in Thailand, Budapest, Prague and some parts of North India.
Kangana is learning Tamil to play Jayalalithaa in her biopic
Apart from Dhaakad, Kangana is also working on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's much talked-about biopic, Thalaivi. The actress will be portraying Jayalalithaa's role in the biopic. As part of preparation, Kangana is also learning Tamil for this bilingual movie. "The scenes will be in Tamil. I'll learn it to understand the character better and feel closer to her," the actress said.
