Kanan Gill is an Indian actor, YouTuber, and stand-up comedian who is popularly known for hosting the YouTube series ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews.’ Gill had won the Punch Line Bangalore Competition. He has performed more than 1,000 shows in the world and in 2017, Gill released his own comedy special ‘Keep It Real’ on Amazon Prime Video,’ which became a huge success. Gill was born on December 24, 1989, in Uttar Pradesh and completed his education at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Initially, he used to work as a software engineer at Exeter Group Inc. following which he decided to pursue comedy as a full-time career. He rose to fame with ‘Pretentious Movie Reviews.’ After this, he also worked in a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central named ‘The Living Room.’ In 2017, Gill made his big screen debut with the dramedy film ‘Noor.’ He also released his special ‘Yours Sincerely’ on Netflix in 2020. He had served as a judge on Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Comistaan’ in 2018. Gill had also co-hosted the YouTube FanFest India and was one of the main personalities behind the YouTube Comedy Hunt.
