Kamal Haasan won't host 'Bigg Boss Tamil Ultimate' any longer
Kamal Haasan will no longer be a part of Bigg Boss Ultimate, the OTT version of Bigg Boss Tamil. The 67-year-old veteran actor said on Sunday that he decided to quit the show mid-way as its production and the post-production of his upcoming film Vikram are happening simultaneously. And, it has become "practically impossible" for him to manage both the projects, he added.
Why does this story matter?
Haasan has been hosting Bigg Boss Tamil since its inception and had become synonymous with the show. In a note shared on social media, he emphasized it's "a show that is very close to my heart." So, this decision to quit the reality show comes as a rude shock. No replacement has been announced yet, but viewers will surely miss him on the show.
What else did the note say?
"The reschedule of production activities for Vikram that we are forced to do on account the lock down and restrictions, have unavoidably resulted in overlap of dates required to be allotted for Bigg Boss Ultimate (sic)," the note read. "It would be unfair to make such eminent stars and technicians wait for me, considering their schedule and other commitments that they might already have."

Who will replace Haasan on the show?
As mentioned before, it's unclear who will replace Haasan on the show. However, actor Ramya Krishnan stepped in when Haasan was down with COVID-19 last year. She had also hosted some weekend episodes of the third season of Bigg Boss Telugu when its original host Nagarjuna was out of town. So, there's a high chance of Krishnan being roped in for Bigg Boss Ultimate.
All you need to know about 'Vikram'
As far as Vikram is concerned, Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi and Maanagaram fame is helming the project. Touted to be a gangster drama, the film boasts of an ensemble of star cast including Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kalidas Jayaram. The project is being bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. It is scheduled to hit the cinema halls on March 31, 2022.
