Kamal Haasan heads to US to study AI!
Believe it or not, veteran actor Kamal Haasan is reportedly pursuing a course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a prestigious institution in the US! Despite being 69, Haasan's age has not deterred him from staying abreast of technological advancements. The actor, who last appeared in Indian 2, left for the US last weekend to begin his 90-day AI course, as per Deccan Herald.
Why does Haasan want to study AI all of sudden?
Haasan plans to attend the course for 45 days before returning to India to fulfil his work commitments. His decision to study AI is driven by a desire to incorporate this technology into his upcoming projects. In a previous interaction last year, he expressed how it often influences his films. "I have a deep interest in new technology...you can often see my films experimenting with the latest technological developments...All my earnings have gone back into my films by various means."
Haasan's recent roles and future projects
In his most recent film, Indian 2, Haasan portrayed a centenarian action star, heavily relying on prosthetics for his look. He also played the chief antagonist Yaskin in Nag Ashwin's blockbuster epic sci-fi spectacle Kalki 2898 AD, where his look was achieved through extensive VFX. Upon returning to India, he will resume work on the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD and other projects like Shankar's historical drama Indian 3 and Mani Ratnam's action drama Thug Life.
