What's the story
South superstar Kamal Haasan met renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan and the actor was surprised to know that the director had seen his 2015 film "Papanasam".
Nolan is known for modern classics such as "Memento", "The Prestige", "Inception" and the Dark Knight series.
He is in India on a three-day trip along with visual artist Tacita Dean.

Filmmaker Shivendra Singh Dungarpur is hosting Nolan
Filmmaker-archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, who's hosting Nolan for all the three days, hopes his trip to India will draw attention to the cause of film preservation and restoration.
Dean's public lecture on "Process and the Non-Deliberate Act" took place on Friday.
It will be followed by a discussion on "Reframing the Future of Film" on April 1 in Mumbai with Nolan, Dean, and Dungarpur.

Roundtable discussion with Indian film personalities
A roundtable discussion is also planned with prominent personalities of the Indian film industry to be attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Haasan, Shyam Benegal and others. Nolan will be present for the screenings of two of his recent films Oscar-nominated "Dunkirk" and "Interstellar".
