'Kalyug' girl Smilie's new profession is 'poles apart' from acting
Mohit Suri's 'Kalyug' was a sleeper hit at the box office. The 2005 film introduced us to Smilie Suri and the all grown up Kunal Khemu. While Kunal went on to appear in a number of Bollywood films, Smilie's filmy career never really took off. This propelled her towards an alternative career and she became a pole dancer. Here's more about her.
Smilie had to pay her dues
Despite her first film being a hit, things did not fall together for Smilie. She soon acquired several health issues such as Thyroid and PCOD which led her to gain a lot of weight. She was also bogged down by depression. It was then that she found pole dancing and it helped her to get over everything she had been facing.
Smilie once quoted in an interview
"I found pole dance, and it has brought me a lot of emotional stability. I don't feel the need for anyone to back me up anymore. All my blues are wiped away whenever one of my students shares how confident she feels after learning it," she said.
She shares a lot of pole dancing tutorials on Instagram
Smilie was last seen in Nach Baliye
The former actress, who is Mohit Suri's sister and Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt's niece, was last seen in Nach Baliye season 7 with her husband Vineet Bangera. As far as her filmy career is concerned, she only did one film after 'Kalyug' called 'Yeh Mera India' and had a special appearance in 'Crook.'
