Renowned playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar was found unconscious at her Hyderabad residence on Tuesday and rushed to the hospital.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an accidental overdose of insomnia medication, which she consumed after a fight with her daughter over education.
"I took eight tablets but was still unable to sleep. I took another 10 tablets and lost consciousness," the singer reportedly told the police.

Before this, Raghavendar's daughter Daya Prasad Prabhakar dismissed rumors of a suicide attempt and assured the public of her family's well-being.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, she said, "Please don't misinterpret anything. Our family is doing well, and my mom will be back in a few days."
She also clarified that her mother's hospitalization was due to stress and prescribed medication leading to a "slight drug overdose," emphasizing it wasn't intentional.

Raghavendar's husband alerted authorities after failed contact
Raghavendar's husband, Prasad Prabhakar, became worried after she didn't answer his calls and alerted members of the colony welfare.
The police were informed, who then came and found her unconscious in her bedroom after breaking open the door.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she regained consciousness and assured authorities that no one else was involved in the incident.

She further assured the public about her parents' relationship, saying both are perfectly happy and everyone in their family is doing well.
