Speculation is rife that the announcement could be about the movie's new release date. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, features an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. Originally scheduled for a May 9 premiere, the film's release has reportedly been shifted due to the Lok Sabha Elections.

Expected to be one big update regarding the film, this will be a major event for fans worldwide."
Could it be an event for release of animated prelude?
Meanwhile, in a unique promotional strategy, an animated prelude to Kalki 2898 AD is currently under development. This extended animation will reportedly introduce characters played by Bachchan, Haasan, Prabhas, and Padukone. Prabhas-Padukone's first collaboration, the film is bankrolled by C Aswani Dutt and Swapna Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. To recall, the film garnered international attention when it debuted at San Diego Comic-Con last year.

In related news, Telugu actor Sharwanand's upcoming film Manamey, directed by Sriram Adittya T and starring Krithi Shetty in the lead role, is rumored to be taking advantage of the delay in Kalki 2898 AD's release. While there is no official confirmation yet, speculation suggests that Manamey might hit theaters on May 10. The film's first teaser was released on Friday, hinting at a unique narrative where the lives of two characters intersect due to a child.
