#15YearsOfKHNH: 5 reasons why everyone needs a friend like Aman
Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Preity Zinta, Shah Rukh Khan, and Saif Ali Khan crept in our lives fifteen years ago and left us teary-eyed. Are you even human if you didn't cry watching this Nikhil Advani directorial? Set in New York, the story of an ill Aman, a troubled Naina, and an adorable Rohit, touched a million souls. On its 15th anniversary, we tell you why we all need an Aman in our lives. In case you don't know (judging you), SRK essayed this role.
Aman the wingman and constant companion
Long before Barney Stinson popularized the term wingman, Bollywood gave us our own: Aman. From helping Rohit confront his feelings for his long-time friend Naina, to telling Sweetu she can approach the 'cool' dude Frankie Ramdayal, Aman always knew what to say. And what does one need more than a companion who understands what's best for us, even when we don't? Aman, the best friend forever.
Feeling low? Aman, the friend, will lift your spirits
Before her life was hit by Aman-storm, Naina rarely stepped out of her comfort zone, and that included not making new friends or even removing her spectacles. With his infectious spirit, Aman made Naina look at the good things, made her more confident. By the end of the movie, she knew how to love life and complain less. Hey, where do we place an order for Aman-seque friend?
He gets you, he gets your family, he is Godsend
When Aman was not busy solving problems of Naina and Rohit, he gave time to their families. His idea revived Naina's mother Jennifer's restaurant, his way with words brought the family closer, and he played a role in bringing the families together for their marriage. Your friends not only get you permissions for sleepovers, if you have the right ones, they do a lot of other things.
With an Aman around, your parties can never be dull
Well, if someone can turn a basketball game into a celebration, one can only imagine what they can do at actual parties. Since Aman was oh-so-energetic always, he would never let anyone's party get boring. Even if it meant, putting his health on the back seat (we won't advise it though). The gist is, you just need an Aman to create memories.
And let's remember, he had so much love to give
Aman's best quality was the abundance of love which he had for all, especially his friends. Despite him wanting to trade places with Rohit, he knew they were best for each other. He gave them his blessings and also made them understand why his love for Naina, though unconditional, is only going to break hearts. An Aman is all we need for better lives.
