Kader Khan was a renowned actor, director, screenwriter, and most importantly, a famous comedian in the Bollywood industry. Born in Afghanistan in 1937, his family later moved to Kamathipura in Mumbai, where he completed his studies. While performing a play named 'Taash Ke Patey', in his college days, he caught comedian Agha's attention. At Agha's suggestion, Dilip Kumar saw the play and was mesmerized by Khan's acting prowess. Following this, he was roped in for Kumar's 'Sagina' and 'Bairaag' films. His first work as a writer was with Narinder Bedi when he was told to co-write the script for the 1972 film 'Jawani Diwani'. He made his acting debut with the film 'Daag', in which he starred alongside Rajesh Khanna. Over the years, Khan acted in over 300 films, wrote the script and dialogues for over 250 films. In 2001, he launched and starred in his own comedy television series, 'Hasna Mat'. He also acted in the 2011 comedy TV series 'Hi! Padosi... Kaun Hai Doshi?'. Khan passed away from a degenerative disease in December 2018 in Canada. He was posthumously awarded Padma Shri in 2019.
