'Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali' to be a remake of 'Veeram'?
Recently, Salman Khan came up with a sweet surprise for his fans as he announced that he would bring forth a movie titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali on the occasion of Eid next year. Although most of the details about the project are being kept under wraps, latest buzz says that the movie is an official Hindi remake of Ajith-starrer hit Tamil movie Veeram.
Salman loved the concept of the movie, a source said
A source told Pinkvilla that writer/director Farhad Samji offered KEKD to Salman, and the superstar loved the concept. "It's got a very emotional Hindu-Muslim angle to the film and is a story about four brothers," the source revealed, adding that the makers have tweaked the story to suit the new title, so that it caters to a pan-India audience.
But wasn't Akshay Kumar doing a 'Veeram' remake?
Meanwhile, earlier it was reported that Akshay Kumar was doing a remake of Veeram. Talking of this, the source informed, "Initially, Akshay Kumar-starrer Bachchan Pandey was supposed to be a remake of Veeram and was titled Land of Lungi in the beginning." However, Bachchan Pandey's script was later edited. It will now be remade on another Tamil movie, Jigarthanda.
'KEKD' also stars Pooja Hegde and Aayush Sharma
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and helmed by Farhad Samji, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will see Salman romancing Pooja Hegde onscreen for the first time. The movie also reportedly stars Salman's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. It is set to go on floors later this year, and will hit the theaters on Eid 2021. Meanwhile, Salman-starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai will release this May.
