'Kaantha': Dulquer Salmaan-Rana Daggubati to bring 1950s Madras charm onscreen
The upcoming film Kaantha, featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani in lead roles, was officially launched on Monday. The launch ceremony took place at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad and was attended by the cast and crew. The movie is a joint production venture between Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media (a division of Suresh Productions) and Salmaan's Wayfarer Films.

Kaantha is set against the backdrop of 1950s Madras and delves into the intricacies of human relationships and societal shifts during this transformative era. The film is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, with Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese also serving as producers. The technical crew includes Dani Sanchez Lopez as the cinematographer, Jhanu providing the music score, art direction by Ramalingam, scriptwriting by Tamizh Prabha, and editing by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.

Daggubati expressed his excitement about the film, stating, "Kaantha is the ideal film to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Suresh Productions and mark the new beginning with Spirit Media." Salmaan also shared his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as a "beautifully layered story that captures the depths of human emotions and gives an actor a lot of scope to perform."
Director Selvaraj's vision for 'Kaantha'
Director Selvaraj shared his vision for Kaantha, stating, "With Kaantha, we aim to transport audiences to a bygone era, capturing its essence while telling a story that resonates with contemporary emotions." The first look of the film is expected to be released soon. Notably, the movie will be made available in four languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Meanwhile, Daggubati is set to appear in TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Fahadh Faasil. Salmaan has roles in Lucky Baskhar and Aakasam Lo Oka Tara lined up. Borse will be seen in Vijay Deverakonda's yet-to-be-titled film; she was recently seen in Mr Bachchan. Samuthirakani has roles in Game Changer and Ramam Raghavam awaiting release.
