'Judgementall Hai Kya' director Prakash Kovelamudi, Kanika Dhillon part ways
After Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha announced their separation today, another celebrity relationship bit the dust. According to media reports, Judgementall Hai Kya writer Kanika Dhillon recently confirmed her separation from Prakash Kovelamudi, director of the movie. Calling it an amicable decision, Kanika emphasized that the two continue to be friends. In fact, the duo won't mind collaborating on the professional front.
Did the separation happen during 'Judgementall Hai Kya' shooting?
Soon after Kanika confirmed her separation, it was speculated if the duo parted ways while shooting for Judgementall Hai Kya. However, she cleared the air and stated that the split with Kovelamudi happened much before the "cameras rolled on the film." "We did split but not during Judgementall Hai Kya. It happened 2 years back," the writer said during an interaction with SpotboyE.
We are still friends and the decision is amicable: Kanika
When the ex-couple was probed about what went wrong between them, Kovelamudi dodged it smartly. "We were settled in Hyderabad, as my social circle is there, but Kanika shifted to Mumbai, around 2 years back," he stated. Later, Kanika, who married Kovelamudi in 2014, interrupted and said, "That's really not important, what matters is that we are still friends and the decision is amicable."
We had a great time working together, says the ex-couple
Meanwhile, their latest offering Judgementall Hai Kya has been winning a lot of appreciation. Overwhelmed with the response, Kanika and Kovelamudi shared that it was fun collaborating for the movie, and that they are open to come together for other projects too. "We've pulled this off together successfully and had a great time working together. Surely open to collaborating on more projects," they stated.
'Judgementall Hai Kya' struggles to make business at BO
However, the psychological dark comedy, starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao, is struggling to survive at the box office. Despite opening to rave reviews, the movie failed to pull crowds and managed to rake in over Rs. 23.5 crore so far. For the uninitiated, Judgementall Hai Kya revolves around a complicated murder mystery wherein Kangana (Bobby Grewal) and Rajkummar (Keshav) are the prime suspects.
