Jr NTR 'prayed' Alia-Ranbir named their daughter Raha
Actor Alia Bhatt recently disclosed that the initial discussion about her baby's name took place at her RRR co-star, Jr NTR's residence in Hyderabad. Interestingly, the Telugu star rooted for the name Raha since then! This revelation was made during a conversation with Jr NTR and filmmaker Karan Johar. The actors share a close bond, both professionally and personally, stemming from their collaboration on SS Rajamouli's 2022 historical epic RRR.
Bhatt recalled discussing baby names at Jr NTR's home
Bhatt reminisced about the time when Jr NTR invited her and husband Ranbir Kapoor to his house for dinner after a Brahmastra press meet in Hyderabad. She was pregnant at that time and it was during this dinner that they first discussed potential baby names. "That was the first time we actually discussed possible baby names in front of everyone else," she said.
'I started praying, I wish it was Raha': Jr NTR
During the conversation, Jr NTR revealed his fondness for the name Raha. "I started praying, I wish it was Raha. And finally, there she is (laughs)," he said. The actors also discussed how parenthood has influenced their professional lives. Jr NTR shared that the birth of his son Abhay led him to seek more creatively fulfilling roles while Bhatt expressed how motherhood has changed her perspective as an actor.
Bhatt's upcoming film 'Jigra' resonates with her motherhood
Bhatt also mentioned that her upcoming film Jigra, which is about a sister protecting her brother at any cost, resonated with her protective feelings toward her newborn daughter. The film, directed by Vasan Bala and co-starring Vedang Raina and Manoj Pahwa, is set to hit theaters on October 11. It is co-produced by Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions along with Johar's Dharma Productions.
