John Wick lives on; Chapter 4 slated for 2021 release
We have great news for John Wick fans. John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum is still performing well at the box office and its sequel already has a release date. The fourth chapter in the film series is all set to release on May 21, 2021. John Wick is one of the best performing series of Keanu Reeves and started as a revenge-action film.
John Wick: Chapter 3 knocked Avengers: Endgame's weekend collection
The Lionsgate film made a $92 million global debut and ended Endgame's three-week reign in the domestic market. Its global collection has surpassed the first John Wick movie's lifetime collection and is all set to knock its 2017 sequel's lifetime collection of $172 million. The main reasons for this collection are its highly stylized choreography and Keanu's charm, along with with a solid script.
John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum is an avant-garde action film
The film combines fast-paced action and visceral violence with a highly stylized choreography. It has received rave reviews worldwide. Talking about the film's universe, director Chad Stahelski said, "We create our own mythology...It's a fun world. If people like it and want to watch more, I could think of way worse ways to spend your career. We'll let the audience figure that out."
Chapter 4 was announced via text message
Similar to Chapter 3's announcement and in line with the film's tone, the sequel was announced via text. "You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming - May 21, 2021," it read. Reeves is currently working on Always Be My Maybe, Toy Story 4, and a new Bill & Ted film called Bill & Ted Face the Music.
