What's the story
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, actor John Abraham hinted at a possible reunion with his Garam Masala co-star Akshay Kumar for a comedy film.
The duo has previously shared screen space in several iconic comedy movies, including Garam Masala and Desi Boyz.
When asked about the possibility of a sequel to either film, Abraham expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Yes, we are very excited about making either or both of those films happen because they'll be fun."
Reunion
Working with Akshay is like going on a holiday
Abraham also spoke about his bond with Kumar. He said, "I don't think two actors have had the kind of chemistry Akshay and I have had."
He also claimed that working with Kumar feels like going on a holiday, "He's a nice bloke. So we'll have a good time."
The Diplomat star claimed he would be the happiest, expressing his love for comedies. He added that when people go to the theater, they want to laugh, making comedies enjoyable.
Friendship
'We just really, really enjoy each other's company...'
Abraham also spoke about his friendship with Desi Boyz director Rohit Dhawan, mentioning that they speak often and consider each other more than just colleagues. He described Dhawan as a close friend, even likening him to a younger brother.

Two comedy films that bring chaos and friendship to life

Meanwhile, Desi Boyz follows two best friends who lose their jobs and reluctantly become male escorts to make ends meet, leading to emotional and comedic turmoil.

Exception
Although comedy is a yes, 'Housefull' is a no
Although the Pathaan star is eager to collaborate with Kumar on a comedy flick, he wouldn't like to be part of an ensemble franchise like Housefull.
Speaking to Zoom recently, Abraham revealed he was approached to be a part of Housefull 5 but that he refused the role because he "felt there was a better space for me reserved somewhere else."
