Joe Jonas swears new music isn't about ex-wife Sophie Turner
Joe Jonas, the 35-year-old pop star, has opened up about his upcoming solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love. In a recent interview with Billboard, he clarified that the album is not intended to target his ex-wife, Sophie Turner. The couple divorced last year after four years of marriage. Jonas described the process of creating this album as "scary at times, and also freeing."
Jonas's album to reflect his happiness and journey
Jonas emphasized that his new album is not about attacking anyone or airing grievances. "I'm not trying to come for anyone on this album. I'm not trying to put stuff on blast," he said, adding, "I have a beautiful life that I'm grateful for." He explained that the music needed to reflect his happiness, as well as the journey he has taken to reach this point in his life.
Jonas's album is to be released in October
The artist continued, "I've got two beautiful kids...I'm a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that." Jonas's upcoming album is set to be released on October 18. He has described it as his "most personal music" yet. In a recent appearance on the Therapuss podcast, Jonas shared that he felt a strong emotional pull to work on music, even though he was unsure of the direction it would take him.
Jonas teased new track alluding to separation from Turner
Jonas and Turner, who were married for four years, share two daughters: 4-year-old Willa and 2-year-old Delphine. Since their split, Turner has started dating Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas has been linked with model Stormi Bree and actor Laila Abdallah. In May, Jonas shared a teaser of a track from his upcoming album. The lyrics seemed to hint at his separation from Turner. "Stop being sad because you're making the room uncomfortable/I know you're feeling so miserable," he sang.
