Jim Sarbh makes a 'rape-joke', Kangana Ranaut laughs. Seriously, why?
Jim Sarbh and Kangana Ranaut have found themselves at the receiving end of netizen's fury (and rightly so) after the former made a rape-joke at an after party in Cannes. The clip of Sarbh casually discussing rape and Kangana laughing on it went viral, and people found it disgusting. "I'd rather be raped by 12 prostitutes than touch alcohol," he said and Kangana cracked-up.

Kangana had called Salman's rape comments insensitive
Remember during 'Sultan' promotions, Salman Khan equated his physical exercise to being raped? Back then, Kangana Ranaut had said, "We all agree that it's a horrible thing to say, something that is extremely insensitive. Like what Salim uncle says is right, that we are all sorry about it." But in the viral clip, she was spotted laughing her heart out. What changed, Kangana?

After controversy, Jim Sarbh issues statement
"Sexual violence is a serious issue and I treat it as such. It is unfortunate that my comments were taken out of context. I do not now nor have I ever condoned any form of sexual violence," Jim said in a statement.
Bollywood condemns rape, cracks jokes about it. Hypocrisy much?
Many people appreciated Bollywood's stand on rape culture after the horrific Kathua case. Sadly, gender-related violence has become the new normal. Adding to it, if cine stars use rape to prove a point (even behind closed doors), it will be better to just do away with holding placards. Considering the amount of influence they have on society, this behavior is intolerable.
