Jeetendra calls sexual abuse charges against him 'ridiculous and baseless'
After a woman alleged Jeetendra of assaulting him sexually, the actor's lawyer has rubbished the allegations. Claiming to be the cousin of the actor, the woman said he sexually abused her when she was 18, and he was 28. Lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, in a statement, said Jeetendra denies the incident, and said it was a personal agenda against the actor.
There is a personal vendetta against Jeetendra: Lawyer
"My client specifically and categorically denies any such incident. Besides even otherwise such baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims cannot be entertained by any Court of law or the law enforcement agencies after a span of almost 50 years," Rizwan said.
Lawyer asks media to not give importance to such claims
The statement called it miserable effort made by a jealous competitor He advised media to 'refrain from giving any importance to such ridiculous, baseless and fabricated claims'. 'The Statute has provided a justice delivery system through the Courts, and the Limitation Act 1963 was specifically enacted to ensure that all genuine complaints are made within a maximum time limit of three years', it added.
These claims should not be entertained: Lawyer
"Such baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims cannot be entertained by any Court of law or the law enforcement agencies after a span of almost 50 years. Such efforts are therefore in all fairness treated with the contempt it truly deserves," he further said.
The victim's statement shocked everyone
The complainant said the incident took place in 1971, where Jeetendra 'arranged' for her to come from New Delhi to Shimla on a movie's sets. When she reached Shimla at night, an inebriated Jeetendra came into her room, joined the twin beds and sexually assaulted her. An FIR has not been registered in the case, as the complainant sent an email to the DGP.
