Why Jasleen Royal is suing T-Series, Guru Randhawa

    What's the story

Singer Jasleen Royal has filed a lawsuit against music label T-Series, lyricist Raj Ranjodh, and singer Guru Randhawa for unauthorized use of her music in the song All Right from the album G Thing.

The lawsuit was filed in the Bombay High Court.

Read on to know why the singer-composer is dragging them to court.

    Details

Here's what had happened according to Royal

According to Royal's statement, the original compositions were created in 2022 for potential use in promotional events for Ajay Devgn's film Runway 34.

Royal had shared the original music compositions with Ranjodh via audio-video calls and messages. These were then incorporated into a scratch version of the song.

The statement mentioned that Randhawa was considered for the song, but Royal found his scratch recording unsatisfactory. As a result, the project didn't materialize.

However, Royal retained the rights to the music.

    Infringement

'All Right' was released without Royal's consent

Despite the project not moving forward, Royal found Randhawa's 2023 song All Right released as part of the album G Thing carried her original work. But she wasn't credited in any way.

The singer claims that this constitutes a breach of her copyright.

She has now taken legal action to protect her music and prevent further unauthorized use.

The Bombay High Court is yet to hear the case and issue a ruling.
