Janhvi Kapoor gets emotional on Sridevi's first death anniversary
We lost Bollywood's first (and perhaps only) female superstar Sridevi on this day last year, when she died of accidental drowning. Although time has flown by, we're still struggling to accept this harsh reality and are mourning her death. In this context, Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor got emotional while remembering her mother on her first death anniversary, and shared a heart-wrenching post on Instagram.
'I'll always be smiling because it has you in it'
On Sridevi's first death anniversary, Janhvi, who made her debut with Dhadak in 2018 opposite Ishaan Khatter, poured her heart out in that post, as she shared a black and white picture of her hands intertwined with that of her mother's. She captioned it, "My heart will always be heavy. But I'll always be smiling because it has you in it."

Sridevi died of accidental drowning in a bathtub
For the uninitiated, Sridevi had spent her last moments with her family in Dubai. She was there to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. As soon as reports of Sridevi's death surfaced, there were speculations and theories about the reason behind her sudden demise. However, it was later reported that she died of accidental drowning in a bathtub of a Dubai hotel.
Shell-shocked Janhvi has 'no memory of three or four months'
It was the most difficult phase of Janhvi's life who admits to still struggling to overcome the pain. In fact, in one of her interviews, Janhvi recalled how she doesn't have a memory of the initial days after her mother's demise. "I am still in shock. None of it has been processed. Like, I have no memory of three or four months," she added.
Sridevi died just five months before Janhvi's debut
Notably, Janhvi made her big debut in July 2018, just five months after Sridevi's death. Unfortunately, Sridevi, who was ecstatic about Janhvi's debut, couldn't witness her daughter making it to the silver screen. However, in one of her interviews, Sridevi had revealed her special advice for Janhvi before her debut and said, "Do hard work, give your 100%, hard work always pays".
