Janhvi reveals Sridevi wanted her to pursue medicine, not acting
Janhvi Kapoor, currently in the news due to her recent film Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, recently disclosed that her late mother and legendary actor Sridevi had different career aspirations for her. During her recent appearance on Netflix's The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapoor revealed that Sridevi wished for her to become a doctor rather than an actor. Kapoor debuted in films in 2018 with Dhadak, a few months after Sridevi's untimely passing.
Kapoor recalled conversation with Sridevi
Kapoor recalled, "Mumma bahut saalon se koshish karti rahi ki mujhe is disha se dur rakhe. Main dress up karti thi, aur make-up karti thi, toh wo mujhe bolti thi - 'pata hain mera sapna kya hain? Ki aap ek din doctor bano (For many years, she tried to keep me away from acting. Whenever I used to play dress-up or apply make-up, she would tell me that she wanted to see me as a doctor.")
Earlier, Boney Kapoor shared insights into Sridevi's dreams for daughters
Boney Kapoor, Sridevi's husband and Kapoor's father, earlier shared his late wife's dreams for their daughters. He told News18, "She never wanted any of the daughters to become actors. She was imagining ke inki shaadi karenge. (She imagined Janhvi and Khushi getting married.") Kapoor's sister Khushi Kapoor is also an actor and made her debut with The Archies last year.
Kapoor opened up on her relationship on 'TGIKS'
While speaking to Kapil Sharma, Kapoor did not mince her words about her relationship with Shikhar Pahariya. Sharma asked her, "Aap same interest wale life partner ko choose karna pasand karengi ya jis Shikhar par aap hain aap ussi mein khush hai?" Kapoor replied, "Jis bhi Shikhar par main hoon wahan bahut khush hoon." Kapoor and Pahariya are often spotted together and the actor revealed on Koffee With Karan that she has his name on speed dial.
