What's the story

One of the early media appearances of Janhvi Kapoor was in 2017, when she accompanied her mother Sridevi and father Boney Kapoor to IFFI, Goa. Back then everyone had gone gaga over the new star kid. Now one year later, Janhvi attended the film festival again but sans her mother. So, the 'Dhadak' actress recited a poem for Sridevi to express her feelings.

The loss

The actress whose death was mourned by the nation

Sridevi's untimely death, earlier this year, shocked Bollywood industry and her fans alike. Her family is still coming to terms with the tragedy. Naturally, Janhvi has been quizzed about Sridevi many times and how she was coping up with the loss. This time around, Janhvi decided to pen down her emotions. A video of her reciting the poem has surfaced on the web.

The year

This year was all about best and worst experiences

The past couple of months have been full of emotions for Janhvi. Her debut movie 'Dhadak' opened to mostly positive reviews and she signed another big-budget movie 'Takht', which is produced by Dharma Productions. "This year brought me both the worst and the best experience of my life. Our family is now united and that is important to me," Janhvi said.

The grief

We are still in shock, Janhvi says

Janhvi was in conversation with Rumi Jaffery and Boney Kapoor when she said what happened was a huge tragedy. "We are still in shock, so we haven't been able to process it properly. I'm really thankful for all the love that we have received and I got a chance to work," she said and added she could never emulate Sridevi even if she wanted.

Boney's words

Separately, Boney hopes the family works on a movie together

In the session, Boney also spoke about his short stint at a theater. He, however, chose to stay behind the camera for brother Anil Kapoor. "I thought if both of us would set out to struggle as actors, who will handle the house?" he said. He revealed there was still an obsession to direct and maybe one day the entire family could work together.
