Janhvi holds book upside-down, netizens say "Beauty with no brain"
Janhvi Kapoor was savagely trolled for holding a book upside down while unveiling it at a recent event. The actress was recently in Delhi for launching the Hindi edition of Harinder Sikka's Calling Sehmat, the inspiration behind Alia Bhatt's Raazi. As pictures of the event surfaced online, netizens couldn't help but notice Janhvi's serious oops moment, and called her a "beauty with no brains."
How intelligent.... ulti book pakadi hai, commented one netizen
Janhvi attended the event, which was held yesterday, wearing a white saree and a spaghetti blouse. She looked pretty, and many netizens thought she resembled her mother, late actress Sridevi. But more than her looks, this major gaffe made bigger headlines. "How intelligent....ulti book pakadi hai," wrote an Instagram user. Another mocked Janhvi's presence of mind, and wrote, "Someone please launch her first."
This is the viral post we are talking about
Janhvi was earlier trolled for copying Balmain's fall 2018 collection
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that the Dhadak actress has been trolled on social media. Earlier this year, Janhvi was called out for copying Balmain's fall 2018 collection that she donned for a cover shoot of the January'19 issue of Cosmopolitan India. One of the users wrote, "All I see is fake everything... hair to dress." "It's so blatant & disgusting," wrote another.
"What's more offensive? The wig or the rip-off"
Social media can mess you up, Janhvi admitted
Once when Janhvi was asked if she would get bothered by these trolls, she admitted that it did affect her, but now she's trying to ignore them. "I started self-valuing on what they would say. But then, I realized it's virtual reality. Social media can mess you up. But now, I'm trying not to get worked up about it," the young actress had stated.
She will soon make her digital-debut with Zoya Akhtar's short-film
On the work front, Janhvi will be making her digital debut with Zoya Akhtar's upcoming anthology in horror genre titled Ghost Stories. Reportedly, she will be the lead protagonist in the short film, and she "was bowled over by the script." "Zoya has a script ready and she will soon be filming her short. It's a quirky but really scary story," stated a source.
Currently, Janhvi is shooting for 'RoohiAfza' opposite Rajkummar Rao
Janhvi is also busy shooting for Hardik Mehta's RoohiAfza opposite Rajkummar Rao, which will release on March 20 next year. Simultaneously, she is working on Gunjan Saxena's biopic, tentatively titled Kargil Girl, in which she will be seen donning a uniform. The 22-year-old starlet has also been confirmed for the much-awaited sequel to 2008 release, Dostana, co-starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead.
