The seeming affirmation came in the form of a necklace inscribed with "Shikhu," Pahariya's nickname. This unmistakable declaration follows Kapoor's earlier subtle hint about their relationship when she mentioned Pahariya as a frequent contact on her speed dial during her appearance on the talk show Koffee With Karan.

Pahariya, the man in Kapoor's life, is the maternal grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. A businessperson and an accomplished polo player, Pahariya has reportedly represented India in several international polo tournaments and is actively involved in philanthropy work. Before his current endeavors, he worked as an investment analyst in London. Fascinatingly, Kapoor and Pahariya's love story blossomed in high school.

The love story is believed to have started during Kapoor's final years at Mumbai's Ecole Mondiale World School. Their relationship hit pause when the actor relocated to Los Angeles for college. Upon her return to Mumbai for her debut film Dhadak, she became romantically linked with co-star Ishaan Khatter. However, Pahariya and Kapoor met again and reignited their romance during Diwali 2022, making their first public appearance together in Mumbai.

Previously, Kapoor's father expressed his fondness for Pahariya in a Zoom interview. He stated, "I love him (Shikhar) and in fact, in between a couple of years back Janhvi was not seeing him but I was still friendly to him. I was convinced he could never be an ex. He'll be around."
