'Jana Nayagan': Vijay's final film to release in 2026

The much-awaited film, Jana Nayagan, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, has been pushed to a Pongal 2026 release.
The movie was originally scheduled for October 2025, however, its new release date has now been officially set for January 9, 2026.
Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is Vijay's 69th film and also his last film before he fully makes the transition into politics.

The film's release has now been shifted from its original Diwali schedule to a mega Pongal festival release.
The makers announced the news with a new poster of Vijay from the film shared on social media on Monday evening.
Not only would this strategic shift capitalize on the holiday season, but it would also fit Vijay's growing political presence ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections.
The polls are scheduled for April-May 2026.
