'Jana Gana Mana': Suraj Venjaramoodu, Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer to get sequel
Upcoming Malayalam film Jana Gana Mana is set to get a part two, announced its lead actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Sukumaran made this surprising revelation at a recent promotional event held at a Kochi-based college. In fact, the teaser released and the upcoming trailer are a part of the sequel, the superstar informed at the event. The film is slated to release on April 28.
Why does this story matter?
Apart from Sukumaran, Jana Gana Mana also has Suraj Venjaramoodu as one of the lead actors. This film reunites the two after their blockbuster venture, Driving Licence (2019). Also, in Jana Gana Mana, Venjaramoodu will play a cop's character like in Driving Licence, which is exciting news anyway. Considering this scenario, if the film gets a sequel, nothing gets better than this.
Here's what Sukumaran said of the sequel
While informing about the sequel, Sukumaran mentioned that it will focus on the present timeline, shown as flashback sequences in the first part. The film's trailer will release on Wednesday evening. Apart from Sukumaran and Venjaramoodu, the film also stars Mamta Mohandas, Siddique, Vincy Aloshious, Shari, Sri Divya, Dhruvan, and Anand Bal. Malayalam film Queen's director Dino Jose Antony has helmed this project.
What we know of the film so far?
Earlier, makers had dropped the film's teaser along with a Mahatma Gandhi quote, "In matters of conscience, the law of the majority has no place." The teaser showed Abbas Jaffar Adeni (Sukumaran) getting interrogated by Venjaramoodu's character, with the former wondering why are there mixed opinions about Gandhi's assassination. Thus, it can be concluded that the film will have a strong Gandhian message.
Meet the cast and crew of the film
Sharis Mohammed has penned the script of Jana Gana Mana, while Jakes Bejoy has composed its music. Apart from the ones mentioned before, the film will also have Shammi Thilakan, Raja Krishnamoorthy, Pasupathi and Azhagam Perumal playing key roles. Apart from this movie, Sukumaran will be seen in multilingual film Salaar, led by Prabhas, and Malayalam film Gold, co-starring Tamil superstar Nayanthara.
