Amrita Rao falls prey to cyber-crime, Twitter account gets hacked
When it comes to security, Twitter is ranked the lowest amongst all social media platforms. And, the recent victim of this is Bollywood actress Amrita Rao - her Twitter account got hacked a couple of days ago. Reportedly, it happened when she was recovering from a viral infection. While talking to TOI, Amrita said that she would now report the incident to cyber cell.
"I was locked out of my own Twitter account"
Talking about it, the Vivah actress said, "My social media team opened the link. It asked for the password of my account, and then it didn't lead anywhere. Eventually, I was locked out of my own Twitter account and we couldn't access it again."
She will report the matter to Twitter officials, cyber cell
Amrita further mentioned that despite all her efforts to log in, she couldn't. She will now be reporting the matter to Twitter officials and cyber-crime cell. "I get messages every day that there is some suspicious activity on my account, but I can't log in. It also took us a little bit of time to realize that this is a serious problem," she added.
Someone is operating with a clear plan, says Amrita
"A few months ago, I got a similar link from Tusshar's (Kapoor) account. He is an actor and a buddy," the 38-year-old said. "My team didn't open the link, and when we asked him, he told us he hadn't sent anything and that his account had been hacked into as well. So, someone is operating with a clear plan," she asserted.
Amrita said those who follow her account may be affected
"My worry right now is that people who I follow or who follow me may get unexplained messages from my account, which can lead to their accounts getting hacked. It is detrimental to all of us and an intrusion of privacy," Amrita wrapped up.
On work front, Amrita made her comeback with 'Thackeray'
On the work front, Amrita, who was missing from the limelight for a while, made her comeback early this year with Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Thackeray. She had taken a break from the industry after her 2013 release Satyagraha. Meanwhile in 2016, she married her long-time boyfriend RJ Anmol in a hush-hush ceremony, and is currently enjoying her new life post marriage.
