Is Dilip Joshi alias Jethalal also quitting 'Tarak Mehta'?
Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah rubbished rumors of him quitting the popular sitcom. Apparently, there were reports that said the actor, who has been associated with the show since its inception in 2008, is exiting TMKOC. However, clearing the air, Dilip stated, "I never felt like quitting," adding that he still has a lot to do with his character.

"Personally, I am not worn out playing this character. It still feels fresh. Sometimes you obviously feel tired but that's physical. There never has been mental fatigue. We, in fact, look forward to going to the shoot," Dilip was quoted as saying.
Life has changed completely for Dilip, thanks to 'TMKOC'
Contrary to him saying goodbye to the show, Dilip remains indebted to it, as he feels that TMKOC has changed his life, for the better. The actor was jobless for a year before the show happened. "That one year was like calm before the storm. Now life has changed completely," he said. However, remembering those difficult moments keeps him grounded, the 51-year-old pointed out.
'TMKOC' is the longest running comedy show on Indian Television
To note, TMKOC has been the longest-running comedy show on Indian television, and has been entertaining audiences successfully for 11 years now. Dilip has been an integral part of the show and was paired opposite Disha Vakani aka Dayaben on TMKOC. However, this popular jodi parted ways after Disha walked out of the show post the birth of her daughter in November 2017.

So far, there have been reports that the makers are planning to replace Disha on TMKOC. However, Dilip is still hopeful that the 40-year-old actress might return on the show. "I'm hoping and keeping my fingers crossed," he added. However, he's also prepared for the new addition to the cast. "If someone from our family goes, life goes on. There's no option," Dilip emphasized.
Disha's two-year-long maternity break started the 'TMKOC' crisis
For the uninitiated, Disha, who garnered immense popularity as Dayaben, left the show taking a maternity break two years ago. The actress was expected to return on the show post her maternity break. However, despite audiences demanding her return, she kept procrastinating her comeback to spend more time with her toddler, until she finally left the show early this year.

It was also reported that the makers were keen to have Disha back, but they failed to meet the conditions she had put forth for her comeback. Among some conditions, she had asked for a change in working hours, and insisted for a 15-day work schedule per month, and that too only for four hours each day. She had also demanded a massive fee-hike.
