Irrfan Khan leaves Amazon original 'Gormint' over health issues
Irrfan Khan, who is currently in London undergoing treatment for a neuroendocrine tumor, has pulled out of 'Gormint', an Amazon Video series due to his health condition. The 52-year-old actor, who shared the sad news through Facebook, said he was gutted and utterly sad to part away from the political satire on which he collaborated with a stand-up quartet. "'Ministry', now known as 'Gormint', the Amazon Video series I have been working on with the AIB team, was one of my most favorite ongoing projects," Irrfan posted on Facebook. He added, "With a heavy heart I would like to say that due to ongoing health issues, I will not be able to fulfill my acting commitment to the show."
Irrfan was spellbound by his character and the show
"I am gutted by this development because the character and the show thrilled me, and I even lived with the character for several months before having cut the journey short," Irrfan said.

Irrfan thanked everyone involved in the show for their support. Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video, India also confirmed the news. "Amazon Prime Video, along with the show's creators and cast, are deeply saddened by this news. Irrfan has been and will continue to remain a part of the Amazon family. We wish him a speedy and successful recovery," Subramaniam said.
How is Irrfan's treatment going on?
Irrfan's treatment involves six chemo cycles and he has so far completed four. Irrfan revealed that after the third chemo cycle, the scan was positive. But only after the sixth-cycle we'll know where life takes him. Nevertheless, Irrfan is staying positive and so do we.
