Irrfan Khan talks about struggle with illness and family support
Irrfan Khan has been missing from the limelight for the most part of the past two years since he was diagnosed with a tumor. However, the actor doesn't fail to acknowledge the love and support that he got from his family during the turbulent journey. In a recent interaction, Irrfan opened up about his struggle with the disease, his family's support, and the upcoming movie Angrezi Medium.
We cried a little and laughed a lot, Irrfan shared
Talking about how the last two years unfolded and the support he received from his family (wife Sutapa and sons Babil and Ayan), Irrfan told Mumbai Mirror, "It has been a roller-coaster ride, a memorable one." "Happy moments were underlined because of the inherent uncertainty. We cried a little and laughed a lot. We became one huge body," he added.
'If I live, I want to live for my wife'
Irrfan added, "What to say about Sutapa (his wife). She is there 24x7. She has evolved in care-giving and if I get to live, I want to live for her. She is the reason for me to keep at it still." Irrfan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor in March 2018 and underwent treatment in London. He is yet to fully recover from the disease.
Had all the time to see my sons evolve: Irrfan
Irrfan added that he got to spend a lot of time with his sons during the course of these past two years. He said, "The best part is that I have had all the time literally to see them evolve. A crucial time for a teenager, like the younger one. The older one isn't a teenager anymore."
Irrfan recently revealed he won't promote 'Angrezi Medium'
Recently, ahead of Angrezi Medium's trailer release, Irrfan shared a heartfelt message for his fans, revealing that he won't be able to promote the movie due to his health issues. He said, "I genuinely wanted to promote this film...But I am struggling with my health. Enjoy the trailer, be kind to each other and watch the film. And yes, wait for me."
