Irrfan Khan will be back with 'Hindi Medium 2'
Irrfan Khan fans have a reason to rejoice as the 'Piku' actor has reportedly agreed to star in 'Hindi Medium 2'. Notably, he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour in March 2018, and has been in London for his treatment since then. Now, according to a report, the 'Hindi Medium 2' team met him there, and after hearing the script, he has given them a go-ahead.
Back in business, and how
His agreeing to do the movie means two things: first, we will get to see more of the great actor whom we missed dearly, and second that he must be recovering well from the disease. Ever since he has gone for his treatment, he has been keeping his fans updated. A tense battle later, it appears he is recovering!
The deadly disease and a few missed projects
Irrfan Khan's cancer had forced him to drop out of two projects. One of them was an untitled Vishal Bhardwaj movie where he was supposed to star with Deepika Padukone. The other one was a political satire series titled 'Gormint'.
Irrfan and 'Hindi Medium 2'
For those unaware, 'Hindi Medium 2' was first confirmed in February 2018. Homi Adajania was supposed to direct the film. However, with Irrfan's health complications, the project was put on a backburner. But, now that Irrfan has greenlit his role, the project seems back on track. The movie will be produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films. Aren't you excited to see Irrfan act again?

Irrfan's new sequel will be set 10 years ahead, and he will reprise the role of Hindi-loving Raj. 'Hindi Medium' was a sleeper hit. It grossed Rs. 300 crore in the box-office and became one of the highest-grossing films. Irrfan also won a Best Actor Award. Notably, his recent film 'Karwaan' also received praise. Hopefully, 'Hindi Medium 2' signals Irrfan's full-time return to Bollywood.
