Raveena Tandon 'in shock' after being attacked by mob: Report
What's the story
Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon is fighting accusations of assaulting three individuals in Mumbai's Bandra area.
The incident occurred late on Saturday, with Tandon's driver being accused of harming three people due to reckless driving.
A video further showed a mob engaged in a heated scuffle with the actor.
However, later, the police stepped in to clarify that "no complaint has been filed in the case."
Now, a source close to Tandon has spoken about the actor's current condition.
Shock
'She still can't recall how she escaped the mob'
According to a source speaking to Zoom, the recent incident involving Tandon was described as akin to a nightmare unfolding before her eyes.
"It was like a nightmare happening in front of Raveena, a weird tortuous scene unfolding like a movie of which she was both a part and apart."
The source further added, "Raveena thought she was going to die. She still can't recall how she escaped the mob."
"She is in a state of shock."
Biggest fears unlocked
'This has always been one of Raveena's biggest fears...'
Further, the source emphasized how mob lynching has always been "one of Raveena's biggest fears."
"Now it has happened. She makes it a point never to travel alone. But how much can a recognizable face protect itself from that section of people waiting out there to pounce on a known face for their five minutes of fame, attacking a celebrity with or without reason?"
Accusations surface
Here's what the alleged victims said
One of the alleged victims—a man identifying himself as Mohammed—claimed that his mother, sister, and niece were run over by Tandon's car near Rizvi College.
He further alleged that when they confronted the driver, he assaulted his niece and his mother.
Mohammed also claimed that Tandon emerged from the car in a "drunken state" to defend her driver and hit his mother, causing serious head injuries.
Official statement
Police dismissed reports of 'assault' and 'head injury'
Contrary to Mohammed's statement, DCP Raj Tilak Roshan dismissed reports of assault and head injury.
He explained to ETimes, "Raveena Tandon's driver was taking a reverse to park the car, and around that time, the other party started shouting 'gaadi chala rahe hai' (they are running over us.")
He continued, "The car hasn't even brushed against any of them. They started fighting and Raveena also came out and she started to fight with them."
