IMDb released list of top actors, and there's a surprise
Just when people start to believe that limelight is fading away from him, Shah Rukh Khan has a habit of coming back with a bang. This time too he has emerged as a true winner as IMDb has declared him the number one star of the Indian cinema in 2017. Here's the complete list, and there is a big surprise.
Aamir Khan follows Shah Rukh closely
IMDb based its list on their StarMeter stats and pageviews and took into consideration which actor stayed at the top and for how long. Shah Rukh was closely followed by Aamir Khan, who gave wondrous films this year like 'Dangal', 'Secret Superstar'. However, with 'Dangal' breaking all the records, one had expected Aamir Khan to be on top of the list.
In the race of Khans, Salman comes third
Although Salman Khan's 'Tubelight' tanked at the box office, he stands strong by securing the third position in the IMDb list. Besides, now Salman is back with his mega project, 'Tiger Zinda Hai', opposite Katrina Kaif. The film might help Salman secure a better position, keeping in mind the hype this film has created.
Tamannaah Bhatia shocks everyone by securing fourth position
Not Deepika, Kareena or Katrina but Tamannah, secured the fourth position! Tamannah, who has done a handful of films in Bollywood is a very popular figure in the Southern film industry. She rose to the position with Tamil flick 'Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan'. She has even outshined Irrfan Khan (no. 5) who gave two successful flicks 'Hindi Medium' and 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' back to back.
Akshay Kumar remains missing from the list
As strange as it might sound, Akshay Kumar featured nowhere in the list, in spite of doing great films like 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', 'Jolly LLB2' that worked better than most of the films this year. However, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan and Prabhas featured in the list of top 10 actors. We hope to see Akshay on the list next time.
