IIFA 2024: Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, 'Animal' win big
The second day of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024 took place in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night, and it was a starry affair with Bollywood's finest. Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Karan Johar hosted the event. The event honored the best films of 2023, and Khan and Rani Mukerji won Best Actor and Best Actress respectively. Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anil Kapoor among winners
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal won the coveted Best Film. Khan bagged the award for Jawan, while Mukerji was honored for her role in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Vidhu Vinod Chopra took home the Best Director award for 12th Fail. Anil Kapoor and Shabana Azmi were recognized as Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Animal and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, respectively. Best Story was won by Rocky Aur Rani..., while 12th Fail won Best Story (Adapted).
'Animal' swept music and negative role categories
Bobby Deol bagged the Best Actor in a Negative Role award for Animal. The film also took home the Best Music award, with Siddharth-Garima winning Best Lyrics for Satranga from the same movie. Singers Bhupinder Babbal and Shilpa Rao were honored for Arjan Vailly (Animal) and Chaleya (Jawan), respectively. Hema Malini was recognized for their Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema. Meanwhile, Karan Johar was celebrated for completing 25 years in cinema.

The IIFA 2024 is a three-day extravaganza that kicked off on September 27 with IIFA Utsavam, celebrating the southern film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Day 2 was graced by stars like Johar, Rekha, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Kaushal. The grand finale will happen on Sunday night with an exclusive invite-only event called IIFA Rocks, featuring live performances by big names like Honey Singh and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
