'Only Murders in the Building' renewed for Season 5
The popular mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building has been greenlit for a fifth season by Hulu, reported Variety. The upcoming season will continue the show's tradition of featuring 10 episodes. This announcement comes shortly after the premiere of Season 4 on August 27, which is set to conclude on October 29.
S04 plot: Trio heads to LA to solve murder
In the fourth season, the main characters—portrayed by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez—embark on an adventurous journey to Los Angeles. They are lured by a movie studio's proposal to adapt their podcast into a film. Simultaneously, they are tasked with unraveling the mystery behind the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), who used to be a stunt double for Martin's character.

The fourth season's cast features an array of renowned actors including Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, and Molly Shannon. The series was co-created by Martin and John Hoffman, who also serve as executive producers alongside Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. Hoffman holds the additional role of showrunner for the series produced by 20th Television.
'Only Murders in the Building' has consistently impressed critics
Since its debut, the show has consistently garnered positive reviews from both critics and viewers. Notably, its third season received an impressive 21 Emmy nominations, including individual nominations for Martin, Short, and Gomez for Outstanding Lead Actor & Actress in a Comedy Series. All four seasons have maintained an average critical approval rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
